U- Pick Strawberries

Ripe and delicious, U-pick strawberries at Husteds in Kalamazoo is available daily from 9-3pm, except Mondays. Always call ahead and check on availability, because they can become picked out.

The Market

Their market is open 9-6. This family owned and operated farm is located in Kalamazoo. Make sure to stop at the market, which is stocked with seasonal produce and vegetables, jams, honey, fudge, slushies and so much more.  

What to Expect

When you stop at the market, you will be given a map and directions to the U-Pick area down the road. When we started out it was rainy, but the skies soon cleared up and the sun came out. Plenty of strawberries were available to pick. Everyone was helpful and accommodating.

Payment

They offer both cash or credit available at the U-pick site. After you pick, they will weigh the strawberries right at the u-pick site. When we visited prices were 2.50 lb/ 3.25qt.

Containers

They provided buckets for picking and cardboard container for transporting your fresh strawberries home.

Restrooms

Porta potties were located at the pick fields.

Oshtemo Township Park   7275 W Main St. Kalamazoo, MI 49009

One of our favorite parks is located nearby. Make a day of it and stop to have lunch after you pick. It has a large playground, with a handicap accessible play structure, climbing spider wall, restrooms, and tennis courts. This is an ideal spot to have lunch under the covered picnic tables or use the restrooms.

With 140 acres of trails, there are plenty of trails to choose. A beautiful hike among forested woods and wetlands. Don’t skip the Majestic Pines with beautiful towering trees framing the path. Other unique features on the trail include a covered wooden pavilion.
