Pine cone bird feeders and North American Bird Flash Cards

Our family loves bird watching and each year we enjoy making unique bird feeders. One of the simplest bird feeders you can make is with pinecones. After collecting pine cones on a hike, we gathered a few supplies around our home to make bird feeders. In tandem we played a game with our North American bird flash cards.

Tips Before Starting

  1. Choose pinecones that are open so the peanut butter and birdseed has a place to collect int he grooves.

  2. Make them outside or use a baking tray to help reduce the mess.
