Nelis’ Dutch Village: Experience the Netherlands without ever leaving Michigan.

Step back in time to another country. Without ever leaving Michigan, you can get the experience of visiting The Netherlands at Nelis’ Dutch Village in Holland, Michigan. Created to showcase the unique components of Dutch heritage and culture. This fun family park is filled with history, rides, animals and learning opportunities.

It’s an ideal way to learn about the history and culture of the Netherlands. Although a little pricey for families, there is plenty to do and rides are included in admission. Cost $15.00 adults /$14.00 children

RIDES

Several old fashion rides including a large Ferris wheel, themed circular swings and push carts that will entertain the family.

DUTCH DANCERS

Sit down awhile and watch as Dutch Dancers perform traditional dances. At the end of the performance, join in the fun as the dancers will instruct and teach you a simple Dutch dance.

PETTING FARM

Head over to the petting farm where you can interact with tons of animals including bunnies, goats, chickens, pigs, cows, sheep, llamas and an alpaca.

LEARN ABOUT HISTORY & CULTURE

There are so many opportunities to learn about the history and culture of The Netherlands. Watch first hand as they make wooden shoes. A model of the inside of a Dutch school gives you a glimpse of the time period. Don’t miss making your own stroopwafels cookies, as you are instructed by authentically dressed Dutch dancers at the market.

SHOP

Enter the quaint shopping area for food and souvenirs. Pick up a pair of wooden shoes, hand painted Delft China, or Holland souvenirs at Klompen gift shop. Peruse the cheese shop and sample cheese as you choose from over 24 varieties of cheese in many ages and flavors. Next delight your taste buds as you head to the Dutch market and pick up homemade fudge, chocolates, cookies and candies. If you’re hungry grab some Dutch style food while you sit inside or enjoy the outdoors under the pavilion at the Hungry Dutchman’s café.  

PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES

There are tons of photo opportunities among the Dutch style buildings, canals, tulips and windmill.
