Kellogg Bird Sanctuary

Swan Kellogg Bird Sanctuary Athens Michigan

Ever wondered how birds adapt to survive Michigan winters or what happens to rescued birds when they become injured? A beautiful place to visit in every season, Kellogg Bird Sanctuary is a true gem located in Augusta, Michigan. Come learn about various North American birds and explore the numerous trails, over 3 miles worth leading throughout the sanctuary.

Feeding the Birds

Armed with a bucket full of feed, for only $1.00, we were able to feed water fowl including: Trumpeter Swans, Mute Swan, Canadian Geese and ducks. A walk-up window at the Resource Center makes purchasing admission, buckets of corn, and souvenirs simple.

Trails

Several bridges and lookouts offer beautiful views of the birds and wildlife on Winter Green Lake. Many of the paths are handicaps accessible and stroller friendly.

*Make sure to grab a map when you first arrive.
