Hike Henson's Arch and Natural Bridge Cave

This short trail (0.5 miles) leads to a small limestone arch at the entrance to the small cave. Nearby is a stairway that leads into a sinkhole with a cavern like interior and waterfall. The trailhead for Henson’s Arch is located in the Whittleton Campground.

A must-see spot when vacationing in Kentucky. Cruise along Route 77, as you pass beautiful scenery on either side and then travel through the Nada Tunnel. This unique 100 year old tunnel looks like it’s been carved right out of the mountainside and was originally used as a logging railroad tunnel.

Creation Falls via Rock Bridge Trail

About halfway along the 1.4 mile hike on Rock Bridge Trail, you’ll come along Creation Falls. Splash and slide in this beautiful waterfall and scenic spot in nature. In addition, at the highest point of the trail, the arch stretches the length of the creek and is a gorgeous sight. This easy hike runs alongside a small creek for most of the hike, making it a soothing escape. Pack a lunch or snacks, there is a small area that’s ideal for a picnic. You can easily gain access to other trails in the Red River Gorge in this area.

Hike the Scenic Trail to Natural Bridge

You don’t want to miss viewing the massive Natural Bridge, which inspired the name for the state park. This sand stone arch is an impressive 65-foot tall and 78-foot wide. There are two possible ways to reach the top of the arch, either hiking the various trails to the top or taking the sky lift.
