Ride the Trails at Whiskey Creek Campground

Ride the Trails at Whiskey Creek

Come enjoy the miles and miles of trails in Custer, Michigan. Whiskey Creek Campground is the ideal environment for people who love dirt biking and four wheeling.

Surrounded by the Manistee National Forest, the campground has access to the extensive trail system. Located in close proximity to Grand Rapids and Pentwater, this campground has tons of amenities and is a great spot for groups and families with children looking to put some miles on their ATV’s.

Swim at the Sand Beach and Indoor Pool

The spacious pond is surrounded by a sandy beach area and play structures. The water is clean and refreshing after a hot, dusty day of riding. We loved swimming out to the floating dock and jumping off time and time again. Bring your fishing poles and try your luck on the fishing dock during your stay.

If the weather is cool, don’t worry since the campground has a large indoor pool you can enjoy. One of the reasons we picked Whiskey Creek as our first camping trip of the season in May was because of being able to access the heated swimming pool. Changing rooms, restrooms and a laundry area are all located in the building connected to the pool. Our one complaint was that the hot tub was definitely not heated, but it didn’t stop us from taking full advantage of the spacious pool.

Amenities

Whiskey Creek has a fully stocked camp store with an ice cream shop, an indoor pool and fitness center, basketball and volleyball courts, a giant bounce pillow, multiple playgrounds, and a gaga ball pit for families to enjoy during their stay.

Onsite Activities

Family camp activities were offered throughout the week which included; tie dying, tournaments and crafts.  *additional fees for some activities. On Saturday morning they also had a pancake breakfast, donations recommended

Camping at Whiskey Creek

There are options for full hookups, tent sites, as well as, RV rentals. Check Whiskey Creeks website for availability. For reference our family of six camped in an 27ft travel trailer during our stay.

This campground easily accommodates larger groups. Most sites were decent sized with mature trees, although one negative was the dusty roads. There was tons of sand and dust kicked up from riders and the dry conditions, especially since there wasn’t a lot of vegetation in certain campsites to create privacy between sites.

Nearby Activities:

Pentwater Explore this beautiful beach town during your stay with delicious restaurants, beaches and art galleries.

Storybook Village one of the most adorable children’s book stores. The decor is so magical with beautiful wall paintings that will make your kid’s imaginations soar with an interactive theater area. This place is a wonderful little gem in the community which displays books, cute toys and even hosts puppet shows.

Lewis Farms: A family owned farm with a petting area, bakery and activities for the family.

Little Sable Lighthouse: Climb the 100 ft tall lighthouse located in Silver Lake State Park for a small fee.
